Epilepsy is a medical condition caused by something unusual that happens in your brain. It causes you to have seizures. Seizures are sometimes called fits, convulsions, attacks or funny turns.
If you have epilepsy, it means you have had two or more seizures.
Epilepsy affects everybody in different ways. You might have seizures every day – or you might only have one every now and then. If you take medicine, you might have no seizures at all.
